Tennis
Both the popularity and standard of tennis at Shrewsbury have risen over recent years. We now field 9 teams - 1st VI, 2nd VI, U16A, U16B, U15A, U15B, U14A, U14B and Girls 1st VI - playing against schools such as Uppingham, Rugby and Cheltenham, and we have senior and junior house competitions each year as well as ample opportunity for pupils to play recreational tennis. In the Michaelmas and Lent terms, we play tennis indoors at the Welti Centre on Sunday evenings.
We enter boys' teams into the Glanville Cup and the Aegon Year 10 Championships, and the independent schools championships - the Thomas Bowl and Youll Cup - which are held at the end of the summer term. Girls' teams are entered into the Aberdare and also the Loveband Trophy.
Fixtures
Having won the Year 10 County Tennis Championships in the summer term, our team of four now progresses to the next stage. This is the first of three (knockout) matches consisting of 4 singles matches and 2 doubles.
