Socieites Fair is an annual event for new entrants in all years to see and consider the range of activities that is on offer here.  In most cases, the senior pupils will be showcasing their interests and activities to new entrants.

19:30 Public lecture 'John Henry Newman: Poet & Priest' by Michael Schutzer-Weissmann (English master) at Shrewsbury Cathedral.

As part of the Shrewsbury Heritage Week and in preparation for Pope Benedict's visit to Great Britain later this month, Michael Schutzer-Weissmann will be giving a talk on Cardinal Newman entitled "John Henry Newman: Poet & Priest", to take place in Shrewsbury Cathedral, Town Walls. All are welcome; entrance is free.

The Holy Father, Pope Benedict XVI, will be the first pope to come to these shores on an official state visit. While he is in Britain, Pope Benedict will beatify Cardinal John Henry Newman, perhaps the most important and influential figure of the Church in England during the 19th century.

It is a tradition for the 3rd years to begin their time at Shrewsbury School with an introduction to the Hunt.  The boys have a long warm up which includes a tour of the site and some basic information about the history of the school, site and most importantly the Hunt itself. They then race around the ancient Benjy route (a mile and a bit).

This will be the 21st Shrewsbury School Prep. Schools' Six-a-Side Tournament - an annual event for Under 11s and Under 13s that takes place one Sunday afternoon towards the beginning of the Michaelmas term. It is a wonderfully colourful, lively and good-natured event that ends with the presentations, tea and refreshments in Quod, our Sixth Form common room.
