Our first ever intake of girls into our co-educational Sixth Form took place in September 2008, when around 35 pioneering girls moved into our newly-built girls' house, Mary Sidney Hall.  They were an extraordinarily talented group, and many of them were keen to take advantage of the sporting opportunities that were available to them here.  Now that we have two girls' boarding houses and well over 100 Sixth Form girls, inter-house and team sports mean that everyone has an opportunity to take part in sport at whatever level they wish.

The two traditional girls' sports, hockey and netball, have a term each - hockey is predominately played in the Michaelmas term, and netball in the Lent term (although we also enter an adult netball league in the Michaelmas term, so we can hit the ground running in the main tournaments after Christmas).

In addition, girls take part and compete in the traditional Shrewsbury sports such as Rowing and Fives (one of our 2010 leavers is now captain of Girls' Fives at Oxford), as well as the more mainstream sports such as Squash, Swimming and Tennis.
