Shrewsbury International School - Bangkok
Shrewsbury International School offers an inspirational English language education for carefully selected students, caring for them in an organisation committed to continuous improvement, and providing outstanding opportunities both in and out of the classroom. We recruit the finest teachers and staff, providing them with the resources to nurture outstanding students and exemplify the pioneering spirit and traditions of Shrewsbury School in the UK.
From our Junior School students, enthusiastically developing their interests and passion for learning, to our exemplary Sixth Form leaders graduating to embark on careers at the world’s leading universities, Shrewsbury International School is established around its innovative, ambitious, dynamic international community.
Enrolment at the school, which enjoys a unique setting on the banks of the Chao Phraya River in central Bangkok, currently stands at around 1,500 students aged 3-18 from 40 nationalities. Each year, graduating students secure places at universities in Australia, the UK and America.
The links between Shrewsbury School in the UK (SSUK) and Shrewsbury International School Bangkok have been strong since the beginning, and grow ever stronger as the years pass.
The musical links between the two schools are particularly strong - the Director of Music at Shrewsbury International, Jonathan Ling, is himself an Old Salopian. SSUK’s Director of Music, John Moore, travels to Bangkok in October each year to conduct the hugely popular 'Last Night of the Proms' concert
Over the years many SSUK graduates have come to Bangkok to enjoy Gap Year placements working in a range of areas across the Junior and Senior Schools, most notably in the kindergarten, and the English, Music, Drama and PE departments.
