Dan Snow
Dan Snow is one of Britain’s most recognisable historians, broadcasters and authors, renowned for bringing history to life for audiences of all ages. A graduate of Balliol College, Oxford, where he earned a First-Class degree in Modern History, Dan first came to public attention through a series of acclaimed television documentaries produced alongside his father, the broadcaster Peter Snow. These included the award-winning Battlefield Britain, which explored some of the most significant conflicts in British history.
Over the past two decades, Dan has become a familiar face on British television, presenting a wide range of programmes on military, political and social history for the BBC and other broadcasters. His engaging style, combined with a deep enthusiasm for the subject, has helped make history accessible and relevant to millions of viewers. He is also the author of several books and a sought-after speaker on leadership, conflict, innovation and the lessons that history can teach us about the modern world.
In 2015, Dan founded History Hit, which has grown from a podcast into a leading digital history platform featuring documentaries, podcasts and educational content enjoyed by audiences around the globe.
Through this work, he has helped pioneer new ways of engaging people with the past in the digital age.
Appointed MBE for services to history, Dan Snow remains a passionate advocate for the value of historical understanding in contemporary society. Whether exploring ancient civilisations, major world conflicts or the challenges of the twenty-first century, he continues to inspire curiosity and encourage audiences to view current events through the lens of the past.
