Notices to Parents

News from the Careers Department
The Careers Department plays a vital role in preparing pupils for the world beyond Shrewsbury. Careers staff work not only with pupils themselves but also with housemasters, tutors, teachers and parents and, increasingly with alumni of the School through the Salopian Club. As a new development within the Careers Department and in a joint initiative with the Salopian Club, we are delighted to announce that Dr Kate Daubney has joined the School this week as our first Careers Fellow. She will be promoting careers through links with the Old Salopian community and advising on work experience and internships. Kate introduces herself in the 'Latest News' article below, which includes a message to all parents. She will be working closely with Dympna Nightingale, who is now the Higher Education Adviser and will be responsible for all things university-related - UK, American and European. Both Kate and Dympna are supported by Careers Secretary Karen Scimia.
