This Saturday at 12.00 noon, the Shrewsbury School Big Band will be performing at The Morris Hall on Bellstone in Shrewsbury as part of the town’s established lunchtime jazz series.

Shrewsbury Foodbank Plus Christmas Fair, Sunday 17th November, 11am - 4pm in Quod

We're looking forward to hosting the Shrewsbury Foodbank Christmas Fair on Sunday 17th November in Quod. Our pupil team of Global Social Leaders are currently very busy getting ready for this, working alongside the staff of Shrewsbury Foodbank Plus and supported by the Shrewsbury School Parents’ Association. There'll be lots of high-quality stalls selling gifts and food – and all in aid of the vital work Foodbank Plus does within the local community.

A reminder that donations of cakes, toiletries and items for the raffle will be gratefully received. They can be left at the School Reception on Saturday 16th November from 8am to 11am. Many thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

St Cecilia Concerts, Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th November

The annual St Cecilia Concerts are a major highlight in the School's musical calendar, performed by the combined forces of the Shrewsbury School Community, Chapel and Chamber Choirs, Symphony Orchestra and Wind Orchestra. There's a real feast of musical treats this year, with a programme that includes the first movement of Dvorak’s wonderful New World Symphony, Beethoven’s dark and dramatic Egmont Overture, Aaratiunian’s Trumpet Concerto with soloist Frank Coughlan (SH U6), and a radiantly serene and uplifting work by one of the UK’s leading current choral composers, ‘Requiem’ by Bob Chilcott.

Further details are under ‘Forthcoming Events’ below. Performances are in the Alington Hall at 7.30pm on Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th November. Tickets are free and can be booked in advance at

Carol Services

Shrewsbury School parents are warmly invited to apply for tickets to one of two Carol Services which will be held in the School Chapel; the first is on Sunday 8th December (5.30pm) and the second on Tuesday 10th December (5.30pm). An application for tickets can be made by clicking this link: Parents and guardians have been sent an email with a password to use when booking tickets; this needs to be entered into the box next to 'Parents and Guardians'. Tickets for each service will be in great demand and will be issued on a first come, first served basis.

Please note that it is not compulsory for pupils to attend either of these services as there will be a whole-school Carol Service, for pupils and staff, at St Chad’s Church in Shrewsbury on Monday 9th December.
