Shrewsbury School

Salopian Club e-bulletin December 2017

For the first time in many years Shrewsbury found itself under a thick blanket of snow as the end of term approached, putting us all in the festive spirit a little earlier than normal and adding a little extra magic to the Club’s Christmas activities.

Overall, the last couple of months have been exceptionally busy, with numerous events, some of which we hope you have been able to enjoy.  From the City Drinks towards the end of November right through to the recent US dinner, the Director has chalked up the miles between Edinburgh, Durham, London, Birmingham, Shrewsbury and New York meeting Old Salopians from up and down the country and beyond.

There have also been some notable sporting achievements over recent weeks.  In a hastily re-arranged tie against the Old Berkhamstedians, the Old Salopian Football Team racked up an impressive 6-0 victory to reach the quarter finals of the Arthur Dunn Cup.  In addition, the OS Hunt defeated the School Team in the recent Hunt challenge, and the above photo shows the very promising Sabrina VIII training on the Severn, despite the snowy conditions, before their Christmas party.  It all bodes well for the coming months.

Please read more about recent activities and forthcoming events below, and do not hesitate to contact us should you wish to participate in any way.

We wish you all a very peaceful and happy Christmas.

Floreat Salopia.
