Shrewsbury School

Piano recital given by Angela Hewitt (Alington Hall)

Saturday 31 January 2015 at 19:30

We host some amazing concerts at Shrewsbury School throughout the year, but this is one of the highlights of the season.

In recent years we have been blessed with some truly outstanding piano recitals. Nikolai Demidenko, Freddy Kempf, Llyr Williams and Peter Donohoe have given us some fine performances, and this year promises to be yet another exceptional evening.

Angela Hewitt is one of the world’s leading pianists; she regularly appears in recital and with major orchestras throughout Europe, the Americas and Asia. Her performances and recordings of Bach have drawn particular praise, marking her out as one of the composer’s foremost interpreters of our time.

Programme:
Bach: Partita No. 5 in G major, BWV 829
Beethoven: Sonata in A-flat major, Op. 110
