St Cecilia Weekend is always a very special moment in the School's musical calendar.
Our two St Cecilia Concerts are performed by the combined forces of the Shrewsbury School Community Choir, Symphony Orchestra and Wind Orchestra,
The programme is the same each evening, and this year features the wonderful pianistic talents of one of the School's most talented Music Scholars, Kanei Nishii, who will be performing the first movement of Rachmaninov's glorious 2nd Piano Concerto.
Also in the programme is Haydn's wonderful Mass in Time of War, which has particular resonance in this, the centenary of the end of the Great War. It will be performed by the Community and Chapel Choirs with student soloists.
The concerts will also include movements from Beethoven's 1st Symphony as well as works for wind orchestra.
Performances are in the Alington Hall at 7.30pm on Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th November. Tickets are free but need to be booked in advance at www.ticketsource.co.uk/shrewsburyschool
