As well as being a fun week of expeditions and activities, Outdoor Week is also a chance for our pupils to engage in some work for the community.
Lower Sixth Formers were this week given the opportunity to enjoy a range of talks from outside speakers in order to inform, prepare and inspire our pupils.
Last week our Lower Sixth Form students put their skills to the test in the National Skills Challenge.
On Saturday the Senior and J16 Crews raced at the Marlow Regatta.

Shropshire Inaugural Tour
In a normal year, many Salopians would have played in the National Schools’ Championships in the last week of the Lent term. For two consecutive years this biggest event of the fives season has not been able to happen.
It’s been a week full of serious fun for our Third and Fourth formers as they enjoyed all the activities that this year’s Outdoor Week had to offer.

The winners of the inaugural Shrewsbury School Academy Awards were announced last week in a glamorous award ceremony.
Saturday 12th June marked the final session of the inaugural academic year for Shrewsbury School STEM Potential, with sessions on scientific research into mosquito-borne diseases and the technology and biochemistry behind vaccines discussed.
This week saw the finale of the Fifth Form Enterprise Challenge.
On Friday 28th May a young Saracens side returned to play the School XI.

Members of the Creative Writing Society have published the latest edition of Fire Engine, a wonderful anthology of poems entitled ‘Submerge’.

Three counties in three hours!
On the first weekend of the half term the Senior and J16 rowers travelled to Dorney Lake in Buckinghamshire to race at the National Schools’ Regatta.
On Saturday, May 8th, the third form rowers had their second opportunity to get out in small boats at Bomere Pool.
Hattie Bramwell (EDH 16-18), coached when at school and currently by Tom Rylands (Ch 73-77), has been appointed Vice-Captain of the Great Britain U25 Rifle team

There’s been a spate of Personal Best records recently for our Salopians.
The return of audiences has seen the Music Department host both lunchtime and a Friday night concert.
It was glorious weather for an afternoon of running, as Salopians took part in this year’s Sidney-Darwin Dash and Quarter Mile Challenge Heats.
