Twenty-two Shrewsbury CCF cadets attended Summer Camp this year, throwing themselves with enthusiasm into a week of challenging activities based in rural Shropshire, on military training areas and in Snowdonia.
Now an annual fixture in the Shrewsbury School CCF calendar, the Summer Gliding Camp is of huge benefit to aspiring pilots in the School CCF RAF Section due, with six days of focused, individual training.
On the day after Speech Day, three Salopians travelled to Manchester to take part in the Withington MUN Conference. Once again, Shrewsbury debaters made their mark.
Plans are now underway for the next Shrewsbury School / Shewsy trip to Medic Malawi in July 2020.
On Sunday 9th June, we welcomed 30 young people and staff from Shrewsbury House (‘The Shewsy’), our youth club in Everton, Liverpool.
School Firsts are one of the highest honours at Shrewsbury, rewarding pupils who have demonstrated exceptional contributions to School life. They are awarded each term by a committee of Upper Sixth Formers.
We look forward to three joint events next month with our friends at the Shewsy, our youth club in Liverpool, and share in their pride at having two former Club members celebrated in the news this week.

Ten Salopians enjoyed a splendid occasion at Buckingham Palace on Monday when they were presented with their Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Awards.

On Wednesday 27th February, eight of the CCF Royal Air Force Section cadets had the opportunity to fly with pilot instructors at RAF Cosford.
Over February half-term, an intrepid group of Duke of Edinburgh's Gold Award participants travelled to the French Pyrenees, where they successfully completed Shrewsbury School's first ever Snowshoe Expedition.
Weekly sports and activity clubs designed and run by Shrewsbury School pupils in local primary schools have attracted support from local businesses.
