The 150th Bumping Races – Day 1

Thursday 28 June 2018

The 150th Bumping Races got underway in hot and clear conditions.

The three crews at the head of each division rowed over, but in division 1 Rigg’s I moved to bungline 2 so will challenge Churchill’s I tomorrow, and in Division 3 Radbrook III will now take on Rigg’s III for the headship.

The Grove remain the highest placed girls’ house in Division 2 and 3, looking to retain the Elizabeth Cup for the third straight year.

The Grove, Mary Sidney and Moser’s had the most successful day with all their crews bumping up, so they are the early leaders for the Bumpers Cup competition (where points are awarded for bumping).

Confirmed bumps were as follows:

Division 1
R bpd PH
SH bpd S
Rt bpd I

Division 2
O bpd SH
G bpd Rt
MSH bpd EDH
M bpd I

Division 3
