Shrewsbury’s innovative use of technology to support excellent teaching and learning has received further recognition from Microsoft, achieving Showcase School status for the third consecutive year.

Microsoft highlighted the significant level of professional development undertaken by staff at Shrewsbury - with more than 40% of teachers achieving Microsoft Elevate Educator status and over 20% have been awarded Microsoft Elevate Expert status.

As a Microsoft Showcase School, Shrewsbury forms part of a global community of schools recognised for using technology to support innovation in education and for sharing best practice with others.

Shrewsbury Headmaster, Leo Winkley, said:

“We are delighted to receive this recognition from Microsoft for a third consecutive year. It reflects our continued commitment to using technology thoughtfully and effectively to support teaching and learning.

“As a school, we are both pro-tech and pro-human. We want our pupils to benefit from the opportunities that technology and AI can offer, while also developing their judgement and understanding to use them sensibly and responsibly in an ‘eyes up’ community that values the power of human connection.”

Deputy Head, Learning and Partnerships at Shrewsbury, Henry Exham, said:

“We're proud to be recognised as a Microsoft Showcase School for 2026-2027 and to be part of a global community of schools that are leading innovation in education.

“We look forward to collaborating, sharing best practices, and continuing to explore how AI can enhance teaching and learning for our pupils at Shrewsbury.”
