Strengthening Our Partnership with Alpha Academies Trust

Earlier this week, Henry Exham (Deputy Head, Learning & Partnerships), Adam Smiter (Head of School Partnerships, Operational) and Chris Wain (Head of Futures) were delighted to visit leaders at Alpha Academies Trust as part of our ongoing commitment to developing this highly successful partnership.
The visit provided an opportunity to review the programme of activities planned for the year ahead and to explore new ways in which our schools can work together to benefit young people across both communities.
The partnership between Shrewsbury School and Alpha Academies Trust is built on a shared commitment to raising aspiration, broadening opportunities and helping young people develop the knowledge, skills and confidence they need to thrive in the future. Over recent years, the partnership has grown significantly, creating enriching experiences for pupils across both communities. Through academic programmes, mentoring, leadership opportunities and collaborative events, young people have been able to learn from one another, develop new perspectives and build confidence and ambition. Shrewsbury pupils have benefited greatly, strengthening their leadership, communication and mentoring skills whilst engaging with peers from different backgrounds and age groups.
Discussions during the visit focused on how we can build on this success, developing opportunities in areas such as futures education and academic enrichment. Both organisations remain committed to ensuring that the partnership continues to evolve in meaningful ways, co-creating experiences that inspire ambition and support personal growth.
We are excited about the year ahead and look forward to continuing this award-winning partnership, working together to provide many opportunities for young people to learn, develop and succeed.
