Pupils put their summer reading to the test as part of the Moser Library’s Summer of Sport Reading Challenge, which encouraged participants to explore a range of books inspired by different sporting themes.
The challenge invited pupils to complete four different reading categories: Sprint, a short story of fewer than 200 pages; Tennis, a story about love; Triathlon, a series of three books; and Swimming, a book involving water.
Readers were asked to provide a summary of each book they read, with prizes available in both the Junior and Senior categories.
Congratulations to Mollie K (III, M), whose varied selection of books particularly impressed the judges, and Freya H (UVI, G), who stood out for the quality and descriptive detail of her reviews.
Mrs El-Gazzar, Head Librarian, said: “It was wonderful to see pupils embracing the challenge and exploring such a varied selection of books over the summer. Mollie and Freya both impressed us in different ways, and their thoughtful engagement with what they had read made them very deserving winners.”
Both pupils were presented with a £100 book voucher by Mrs El-Gazzar in recognition of their achievements.
