Double Success for Shrewsbury at U14 County Netball Tournament

Shrewsbury was delighted to welcome 13 schools for the U14 County Netball Tournament, bringing together talented young players from across the county for an excellent day of competition.

The Shrewsbury girls enjoyed a superb day on court, with teams winning both the Trophy and Plate competitions.

The Trophy team produced a series of strong performances throughout the tournament to secure the title and, with it, qualification for the regional competition.

There was further success for Shrewsbury in the Plate, with the girls showing great determination and teamwork to complete a memorable double victory for the School.

Congratulations to all the pupils who competed and contributed to such a positive day of netball, and particularly to our Shrewsbury teams on an outstanding set of results.

We wish our Trophy winners every success as they progress to the regional competition.

Sophie Jones, Head of Netball, said:

"It was a fantastic day of netball, and I’m incredibly proud of all the girls. Both squads approached every match with composure, confidence and determination, responding brilliantly to every challenge they faced throughout the tournament. There was some outstanding netball on display, with the girls demonstrating excellent skill, teamwork and consistency across the day.

"To come away as County Trophy and Plate champions is a fantastic achievement and a real testament to the girls’ hard work and commitment. We’re incredibly excited to see our U14A’s progress to the Regional Championships and look forward to an exciting season ahead for both squads."
