Shrewsbury School

Art Gallery

Friday 23 November 2018

Anyone following Shrewsbury School Art on Twitter or Instagram will have seen a glorious array of creations from the Department this term. We’ve gathered together a few recent highlights here..

These have included a Whole School collaborative installation shrine for the Mexican Day of the Dead on 2nd November, which included spirit animals and sugar skulls made by the Third Form, paper craft marigold flowers, papel picado and decorated skulls by members of the Creative Arts group and portraits by Art Scholars and members of the Art Society.

The Third Form Art Society and Creative Arts groups have also been involved in making tributes to those who fought in the First World War and in creating winter-themed chalkboards to decorate KH.

Fourth Form artists spent a day getting stuck into observational recording and collecting at the Botanical Gardens in Birmingham and drawing inspiration from the Ikon Gallery.

Meanwhile, Sixth Form artists, photographers and art historians travelled to London and spent a wonderful day at the Tate Modern, Hayward Gallery and Royal Academy.
