Celebrating 30 years of The Grove

Wednesday 14 November 2018

A Gathering of Grovites!

Thirty years is not a long time in Salopian history, but in that short time the Grove has made its mark – achieving an extraordinary record in house singing and house sport, then becoming the first house to convert from boys to girls.

Over 100 former members of the Grove, staff, and families gathered in Quod on Sunday 4th November to celebrate this milestone, including all 4 former Housemasters (Mark Lascelles, Peter Fanning, Stuart Cowper and Dan Nicholas) and the current Housemistress, Clare Wilson.

A buffet lunch was followed by a memorable speech from Peter Fanning, the founding Housemaster, and a cutting of the cake, decorated in cornflower blue and white. Thereafter there were tours of the Grove and plenty of chat between former and current inmates. A day that reflected the great spirit that has built up in the Grove over 30 years.
