As winners of the House Challenge 'Ready, Steady, Cook!' last term, Churchill's Hall were given a House Barbecue by our caterers, Avenance, with celebrity chef Anton Edelmann.
Housemaster Richard Hudson chose to have the barbecue on Friday 6th May, so that guests could go on to the Maidment to enjoy the annual Churchill's Musical Soiree.
Celebrity chef Anton Edelmann also attended the barbecue, where he prepared a special dish of Fillet of Beef with Pesto and Mediterranean Vegetable Ragout with the two Churchill's boys who had won the competition, Alasdair Bird (LVI) and Will Heyes (V). During his time as Head Chef of the Savoy Grill, a position that he held for over 20 years, Anton often found himself cooking for the Queen Mother, the Queen, Princess Diana and even President Clinton. He is the author of more than 10 books, has judged Master Chef and is also a part owner of the 'Brompton Grill' in Knightsbridge,
The rest of Churchill's, and the many parents who were there, thoroughly enjoyed a meal cooked by our own Head Chef, Mark Johnson. They then all went on to enjoy the Musical Soiree in the Maidment Building.
