So it was another weather controlled Duke of Edinburgh's Award Training trip over exeat, with a Force 8 wind blowing from the South West, the sea kayaking team had to retreat to the relative safety of a very large lake namely LLyn Tegid (Lake Bala). Despite the shelter, the waves still came crashing over boats splashing our faces and obscuring our view. It was a hugely successful trip with the team learning all the basics of good leadership. In the photo below right, they are recieving a lesson on the beach with the sand play acting as a very useful white board!
Three other teams were out and about also undertaking Silver and Gold expedition training on foot. Exposed on the hills of Snowdonia, we had some additional 17 pupils complete expedition training. Well done to all.
