Fives: Victory against Eton

Friday 6 March 2015

The Fives squad registered their first big win of the season on Saturday 28th February against Eton.

The senior pairs played exceptionally well. Although the top pair George Lewis (I) and Samson Yick (S) lost their match 15-14 in the 3rd set, the other seniors all won their matches, thereby winning 3-1 overall. A special mention and thanks to Nick Pearce (I) for stepping into the team.

The U16s won 3-0 without dropping a single match, which highlights the progress they are making and demonstrates how much there is to come from this group.

The U15s won 2-1 and delivered the match of the day. Following a loss and a win for the 1st and 2nd pairs, the 3rd pair came through a 5-set match to win 12-10 in the 5th set. Well done to David Schofield (O) and Gen Songthammakul (I) who showed excellent energy levels to secure their match in the final stages.

U14s 1st pair Dan Humes (I) and Marcus Cope (Rt) won their match but the U14s lost 1-2 overall. Nevertheless, they continue to progress and show great promise for the Beginners' Nationals at the end of term.
