Football: 1st XI reach ISFA quarter-finals

Thursday 21 November 2019

The 1st XI put out an assured performance in the round of 16 match against Kimbolton School in the Boodles ISFA Cup last week. They now look forward to the quarter-finals on 4th December….

A buoyant crowd – the ‘Salop Army’ – were in fine voice to push the team on; Salopian spirit at its finest! The team responded in kind, our possession stat was over 70% which highlighted the dominance and control the 1st XI had against a well-drilled and committed opposition.

An impressive hat-trick from Harry Cooke (PH) – with all three coming from long-range shots – secured the match, followed by a goal each for Nathan Day and Guy Gower (S) – the latter a confident penalty firing into the top corner.

The quarter-final draw sees us go to Brentwood on Wednesday 4th December – a tough, but realistic, draw.

This fixture represents our third visit to the last eight of the national ISFA Boodles competition in the past five years. Well done team!
