Hockey News Round-Up

Thursday 20 September 2018

As we look forward to hosting the U16 County Hockey Tournament at Shrewsbury next week, a quick update on the Senior teams' recent matches.

In their first match of the season away against King’s School Chester, the Girls’ 1st XI drew (3-3). Having been 0-2 down at the break, this represented a good comeback and, indeed, had a goal disallowed towards the end that would have won the game.

The goals came from Amelie Davies, Georgie Nicholas and Phoebe Wasdell; special mentions to Fifth Formers Adelaide Sillar and Georgie Nicholas stepping up to the 1st team and to the Player of the Match Ella Niblett.

They were disappointed to lose to Repton in an exciting game last Saturday, but had a good win against King’s School, Worcester this Wednesday, 2-1.

The 2nd XI began their season with two losses against Repton and Stafford Grammar but enjoyed a great win on Wednesday against Wolverhampton Grammar, beating them 3-2.
