Jaguar Land Rover visit

Friday 11 May 2018

The Physics and Design & Technology Faculties combined forces recently for a joint visit to Jaguar Land Rover, giving pupils a hands-on insight into some of the practical applications of their subjects.

Donning high-vis jackets, 24 Fifth and Sixth Formers enjoyed a fascinating tour of the engine manufacturing centre and were then given an overview of the design process at JLR.

They also had a chance to find out in detail about Engineering as a potential career, as staff talked to them about their own roles at JLR, explained the various routes into becoming an engineer - and the current skills shortage in the UK and needs of employers - and answered their questions.
