Junior School Essay Prize 2019

Monday 13 May 2019

On Friday 10th May, over 30 Third and Fourth Form pupils volunteered to undertake the highly regarded annual Junior School Essay Prize.

The challenge: to write for one hour on an unseen title from a choice of questions covering all aspects of the Shrewsbury curriculum.

For a flavour of the scope and range of the questions, please have a look at the paper: Junior School Essay Prize 2019

The scripts have now been sent, without name or House annotation, for adjudication by Dr David Gee. The prizewinner will be announced shortly after Exeat and will receive their prize on Speech Day.

Well done to everyone who took part! All the pupils should be commended for engaging in the spirit of academic curiosity and extension of the courses they have studied.
