It was congratulations all round for Shrewsbury School’s Apprentice Chef Sam Wainwright, who managed to get through to the finals of the Apprentice of the Year Award, run by the Shropshire Council and the Shropshire Business Awards. The glittering award ceremony took place on Friday 15th June.
Apprentices from all around Shropshire entered in the hope of bagging this prestigious title, so Sam faced some really stiff competition from the outset! We were delighted when we heard that Sam had made it through to the preliminary round of the competition, and even more thrilled when he made it through to the finals, beating off many hopefuls along the way.
James Bradford, Shrewsbury's Catering Manager who attended the ceremony with Sam and his Mum, said that we can all be very proud of Sam for this brilliant achievement. The Shropshire Star will be running an article and supplement about the event which should be published this week.
