Mrs Peak’s SwimRun Challenge for the Shewsy

Friday 7 June 2019

In her own words, Mrs Peak will be going so far outside her comfort zone to raise funds for the School’s youth club in Liverpool this Saturday “that she may not come back”.

She will be taking part in the Great North SwimRun – a 12km cross-country course alternating running around and swimming through Lake Windermere. (And the weather forecast is currently "heavy rain and strong, gusting winds"...)

“This is the first time I have ever attempted anything like this. As a teacher I constantly tell young people that they learn from pushing themselves out of their comfort zones.... I’m practising what I preach and I’m so scared. What will I learn?”

She would be very grateful for any donations to help spur her on her way as she “tries to make a small difference to a wonderful youth centre with tremendous young people and staff at its heart”.
