MSH Great British Bake Off

Monday 12 January 2015

This weekend saw the first ever MSH Great British Bake Off competition. Seven teams from a range of year groups and culinary backgrounds battled it out in a two-day event.

On Saturday evening the girls produced a range of sweet treats, including homemade cream puffs, chequered sponges and Cookie Monster-themed cupcakes.

Places in Sunday's final were awarded to Tessa Scott Bell (3) for her classic chocolate sponge, Georgia Bruce (LVI) and her stunning and equally tasty double chocolaty gateaux with a white chocolate ganache and Erin Leatherbarrow (LVI), Sarah Jackman (LVI) and Lily Drinkwater (LVI) for their Guinness cake with cream cheese frosting.

On Sunday the final consisted of a technical challenge to produce a MSH-coloured Battenberg-style cake. The winner was Tessa Scott Bell who impressed the Judges (Ms Peak, Miss Rule and Matron) with her very professional efforts.

Well done to all who took part. This will definitely be an annual event!
