Nick Howe, Managing Director of Holroyd Howe Independent, writes...

"I am so delighted that our business has been invited to provide the catering services at Shrewsbury School.  Over the last few months, many of our team have had the opportunity to spend time at the School and have all been so impressed with the wonderful atmosphere and culture that exists.  We are lucky enough to work in many excellent independent schools around the UK and it is easy to see why Shrewsbury School ranks as one of the very best of its kind.

"Holroyd Howe Independent is a privately owned organisation that caters solely in the independent schools market.    We are a business built around some fundamental principles.  We are totally committed to providing fresh home made food using the best ingredients that are in season.  We always look to buy our food locally whenever we can to minimise food miles and we commit fully to designing menus that are nutritious and wholesome.  We are very much looking forward to getting to know and working with the existing catering team and in doing so we promise to take into account the views of as many pupils and staff as we can.  Your ideas and opinions about the services are most important to us and will always try to incorporate them into our menus and how we cater for you.

"When we launch the services at the beginning of the new term in September, we will be introducing a range of new ideas and features which we hope you will enjoy.  We have also been preparing with the School some really exciting design plans for Kingsland Hall that will introduce a number of new service initiatives and give a ‘new look’ and excellent environment for everyone to benefit from. Once these plans are agreed and dates finalised, we look forward to expanding further on the details to you.  At the same time, we will be working on ideas to expand the food offering in both The Grot Shop and Quod, to be enjoyed by pupils and of course parents on match days.

"With the second girls’ boarding house being opened at the same time that we are introduced in September, we hope that the return to Shrewsbury after an enjoyable summer break will be one to look forward to - do enjoy the holiday first though!  My team and I hope to meet and get to know you over the coming weeks and months."
