Brigadier General Arthur Anthony Howell CMG TD, General Staff
Churchill’s, left in 1878 and trained at the London Hospital, (MRCS 1886, LRCP 1891). He saw active service in the South African War and in the first two years of WW1 before being gazetted Brigadier-General in command of the 1st London (Reserve) Infantry Brigade. He was presented with the Order of St Anne by the Czar of Russia.
He died suddenly at Aldershot on 15th January 1918, aged 56.
