Major Frank Harvey Bowring, 9th Bn. The King's (Liverpool Regiment).
Churchill’s, Cricket XI, Football XI, left in 1899 for Christ Church, Oxford and subsequently qualified as a solicior. He was a regular player with the Northern Nomads F.C.
Initially commissioned in to the 17th Service Battn., (1st City), he was wounded and returned home. On return he transferred to the 9th and went back to the Front.
He was probably related to Charles Thurston Bowring, who was killed on 29th December 1916.
Killed in action in France, 28th August 1918, aged 39.
