Shrewsbury School is celebrating another very successful year, with 15 pupils gaining offers from Oxford and Cambridge universities. 12 offers from Oxford University is the highest number the school has enjoyed for many years.
This was a year-group that is particularly strong in science, and this is borne out by 10 pupils receiving offers across a range of science subjects.
The school is already starting to prepare for July 2014 when it will play host to around 150 of the top young scientists in the world who will be taking part in the International Young Physicists Tournament. This annual event has recently taken place in countries such as Germany, China and Korea, but it has never before been held in the UK. Salopian pupils have been selected to represent the UK in the tournament in six of the last ten years.
