Physics and Astrophysics Olympiad Success

The annual British Physics and Astrophysics Olympiad competitions are designed to stretch and challenge the most able young physicists in the country beyond the syllabus of their GCSE and A level exams.

The Shrewsbury School pupils who have taken part in this year’s competitions have achieved significant success.

Particular congratulations to the following, who were awarded gold and silver medals:

Boris Kwok (Ch UVI) – Gold, British Physics Olympiad Round 1

Jack Li (Rt LVI) – Silver, Astronomy and Astrophysics Challenge

Mark Pangin (SH LVI) – Silver, AS Physics Challenge

Adam Pattenden (S LVI) – Silver, Astronomy and Astrophysics Challenge; Gold, AS Physics Challenge

Kelvin Tam (O UVI) – Gold, Astronomy and Astrophysics Challenge; Silver, British Physics Olympiad Round 1

Tony Wan (I LVI) – Silver, Astronomy and Astrophysics Challenge

Chris Wong (SH LVI) – Silver, Astronomy and Astrophysics Challenge; Silver, AS Physics Challenge Olympiad

Benson Zhou (SH V) – Gold, Physics Challenge

* Last November, Isaac Dai also won an International Olympiad Bronze medal as a member of the UK team who competed in the 11th International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics, held in Phuket, Thailand.
