Shrewsbury School shortlisted for three awards in prestigious national competition

Thursday 7 July 2022

Shrewsbury School is delighted to announce that it has been shortlisted in three categories in this year’s Independent School of the Year Awards.

These awards highlight the excellence of the student experience offered by the UK's independent schools, and Shrewsbury is pleased to have been shortlisted in the Independent School of the year for Performing Arts (Music & Drama), The Green Award for Environmental Achievement and Independent School of the Year for Student Careers Programme categories.

Headmaster Leo Winkley commented: “We’re delighted to have been shortlisted in these categories covering diverse areas of whole person education at Shrewsbury. To be commended for our performing arts, environmental work and careers advice is a fabulous validation of the vibrant efforts of our pupils and staff."

Independent Schools of the Year 2022 is an awards programme by Independent School Parent magazine. The awards are designed to showcase schools’ success stories and celebrate the extraordinary and compelling student experience they provide.

In 2020 Shrewsbury School was named Independent School of the Year, as well as receiving the award for Community Outreach in the same year.

A list of finalists will be published on September 7th, before the winners are announced at an awards ceremony in October.
