Strong team performance in National Cross-Country Final

Wednesday 28 November 2018

On Saturday the RSSH took an U15 team to the national final of the ESAA Cross-Country Cup, having qualified through the County and Regional rounds earlier in the autumn.

Among an incredibly strong field, which included many of the best young runners in the country, the team performed extremely well, placing 17th overall - four places higher than last year.

Harrison Cutler (R) was our first counter, placing 40th, ahead of Ben Weston (R) 62nd, Will Singleton (R) 79th and Archie Collings (Rb) 81st; giving us a points score of 262.

Jonathan Price (I) 146th and Charlie Huntley (PH) 151st completed the team. It's interesting to note Harrison's improvement in particular; he placed 115th last year.

Given that our other three counters are all Third Form (i.e. running a year young in the age group), if they're able to match Harrison's rate of improvement then 2019 looks like it could be a special year!
