Monday 28 November 2011

Oliver LansdellOliver Lansdell (PH 3) has recently been awarded fourth place in a contest to find the best video tutorial for film-makers. The web-based competition was run by the US lighting company LINCO, who described Oliver's tutorial as being "a great do-it-yourself tutorial that is both soothing to listen to and great fun to watch".  The prize was some professional lighting kit, which will help him with his green-screening.

Oliver also won another filming award last February in the Create It Awards 2011 run by Shropshire Council, when he won first place in the 'Video - Key Stage 3' category.

Oliver got into filming when he was 7-8 years old when he was writing mini-plays, and wanted to bring them to life by filming them.  He is now working on a production which he hopes will raise money for Children in Need, and is planning to take Photography at A level (amongst others) and then continue his studies at a top filming college.

Oliver's more viewed film (>6,000) on YouTube so far is a trailer for Michael Morpurgo's 'Private Peaceful':
