The Head of Geography, Olly Russell, was delighted to receive the news and warm in his praise of Veronica’s exceptional achievement. “Veronica is an outstanding academic. She worked tirelessly throughout the course of her two years in the Sixth Form, followed advice and added huge amounts to the classroom and to the Geography Faculty. The fact that she has achieved the distinction of being the top Pre-U Geographer in the country is a testament to her dedication and ability for academic work. The Pre-U course is tough and rigorous. Many excellent schools also take this qualification, so this award is particularly special.”
Deputy Head (Academic) Maurice Walters added, “This award is also testament to the strength of teaching in the Faculty and the high aspirations that the School sets for its pupils.”
Veronica was awarded the Robert-Eustace Prize for Upper Sixth Geography at Speech Day in June. She also scored the top grade for all her subjects.
She is currently studying Biomedical Sciences at the University of Oxford (Oriel College). We wish her well in her studies there.
