A visit to the new Shrewsbury International School Hong Kong

Friday 2 February 2018

Eight Committee members of the Friends of Shrewsbury School Hong Kong (FSSHK) enjoyed a very informative visit last month to the Admissions Office of the soon-to-be-opened Shrewsbury International School HK in Tseung Kwan O.

Helen Mayhew, Vice-Chair of the FSSHK, writes:

They were welcomed by the Principal, Ben Keeling, and Pre-Operation Teachers Nicola Thompson and Louise Granger.

Ben and his staff showed Committee Members an introductory slideshow and explained the very distinctive differences of Shrewsbury International School HK compared with other international schools in HK. These included being a Primary Specialist School for 3-11-year-olds, a very forward-thinking English National Curriculum with daily mandatory Mandarin classes, top-notch facilities including an indoor running track and a heated indoor swimming pools (one for junior students and one for more senior ones) – to name just a few!

What makes Shrewsbury School so unique is the support community that it has created around the world.  Committee Members of the FSSHK have also been invited to the new school's Cocktail Reception at the British Consulate on 7th March.  And we so look forward to visiting the grand opening of the School located this August!
