Nick Jenkins to become Director of the Salopian Club in February, 2014

The Salopian Club is delighted to announce that, from February, 2014, Lt Col Nick Jenkins, OBE, will be taking over as the new Director of the Salopian Club.  Nick is pictured on the right of the photo (left), at the recent Old Salopian Shrewsbury Drinks Party with the current Head of the School Governors, Richard Burbidge (Ch 1955-60).

Educated at Rugby School and Trinity College, Cambridge, Nick was commissioned into The Royal Green Jackets in 1970 where he saw service in Germany, Hong Kong, Cyprus, Falkland Islands and UK (including N.Ireland and MOD). From 1989-1992 was the Commanding Officer 5th (Shropshire and Herefordshire) Battalion The Light Infantry and was awarded the OBE in the Queen's Birthday 1992 Honours List.

In 1992, Nick joined the staff at Shrewsbury School, teaching Classics. From 1995-2009, he was Housemaster of Oldham's Hall.   He says ‘I am delighted to be joining the team at the Salopian Club and much look forward to renewing contact with all members including the many Salopians and their families I have encountered over my 21 years at the School’.
