The Art Faculty has hung the work 'Royal Academy' style with a floor-to-ceiling hang that really makes the most of the beautifully redecorated gallery space and celebrates the richness and diversity of the work, which has been created despite the extraordinary and challenging circumstances of the last year.
Head of Art, Lucy Caddel, said: "Students have worked incredibly hard in the face of unprecedented adversity showing resilience, independence and positivity and this is reflected in the individuality, intensity and highly personal nature of the work we can see here.
"The range of artwork on display is outstanding, featuring everything from exceptionally high quality oil painting to exciting projection-based installation. Meticulous drawing and printmaking have been professionally framed and we have beautifully printed large scale digital drawing, graphic illustration and photography. In the Upper Sixth studio gallery you can see a broad range of contemporary practices including surface pattern design, screenprinting, fine art textiles, photographic installation, film, ceramics and kinetic sculpture."
The final show is opening up from Thursday, September 9th to Saturday, September 11th from 5pm to 7.30pm each day for anyone wishing to view our Salopians' work. For more information, contact Lucy Caddel at LAC@shrewsburyorg.uk
