There were outstanding results on Saturday in the annual block fixture against Repton School. Twelve matches were played, with ten Shrewsbury victories and two draws, one of which being the 1st XI 2-2. A real highlight was the U16a 12-2 win, including a staggering seven goal haul for Jack Hudson-Williams.
Unfortunately, the 1st XI were knocked out of the ESFA Cup in the fifth round by Manchester Grammar School, going down 3-2, with a side depleted somewhat by injury. Shrewsbury play Millfield School in the Semi-Final of the Boodles ISFA U18 Cup next term, whilst the U15A XI have drawn Repton in the Semi-Final of the U15 ISFA equivalent. Therefore, the U15A XI’s 4-1 victory over Repton on Saturday bodes well.
Superb news for 1st XI Captain Robbie Williams, Pat White and Ed White last week, when they heard of their selection for the National ISFA U18 Squad. Many congratulations to the three of them.
