We are looking for an enthusiastic and pro-active person who would like to gain work experience in the performing arts and events industry, as well as gaining a recognised NVQ qualification.
You will be working in our Performing Arts and Events Department in developing a range of technical skills in carpentry, sound and lighting, design, stock maintenance and event management. You will take responsibility for some aspects of theatre maintenance and cover small scale events under the supervision of the Senior Technician. You will assist with our commercial lettings programme during the school holidays which will include liaising with outside performers, music groups and guest speakers.
Essentially you must have an out-going and confident personality with a flexible attitude to the working environment. You must be able to demonstrate an interest and passion of the performing arts and events industry.
This is a 12 month, fixed-term position working 40 hours per week. Hours will be worked flexibly which will include some evenings and weekend working during term-time and some of the school holidays. Salary will be based on the apprenticeship National Minimum Wage pay.
