We are delighted to welcome back Shropshire based author Amy, who kindly judged the Richard Hillary Essay Medal for us early this year. Her debut novel The Sky is Mine was nominated for a CILIP Carnegie Medal 2021, longlisted for the Branford Boase Award 2021 and shortlisted for the Bristol Teen Book Award 2020. We Are All constellations, her second Young Adult novel, was described by the Guardian as ‘slyly funny, romantic and filled with unlikely beauty’. Her debut novel for adults, Spilt Milk, was published in 2023. It explores our preconceived notions of motherhood and ‘shines a light on the thornier, more nuanced emotions of this supposedly very happy phase of our lives.’
Amy will run two creative writing workshops.
