Scholarships are awarded to pupils who demonstrate outstanding ability, commitment and promise across a wide range of disciplines. They recognise not only achievement, but also the enthusiasm, creativity, determination and ambition that enrich our School community.
Whether in the classroom, on the stage, on the sports field, in the art studio or through innovation and leadership, our Scholars play an important role in the life of Shrewsbury. Awards are available for pupils joining Shrewsbury at Third Form (13+) and Sixth Form (16+).
We are equally committed to ensuring that a Shrewsbury education is accessible to talented young people, regardless of financial circumstances. Means-tested bursaries are available to support families, and many pupils receive a combination of scholarship and bursary assistance.

Becoming a Shrewsbury Scholar is the beginning of an exciting journey. Our Scholarships are designed not only to recognise exceptional talent, but to nurture it, challenge it and help it flourish.
Scholars are encouraged to explore their passions in greater depth through a rich programme of opportunities beyond the curriculum. They work alongside inspiring teachers and like-minded peers, embracing experiences that broaden their horizons and develop their confidence as learners, performers, leaders and young people.
As a Shrewsbury Scholar, you will have opportunities to:
