Academic Results and Destinations

Shrewsbury pupils achieve outstanding academic and creative success, progressing to some of the world’s most competitive universities, conservatoires and specialist arts institutions.

In 2026, 87% secured their first-choice destinations, with 70% going on to Russell Group universities including Exeter, UCL and Durham.  

Nineteen pupils will continue their studies in North America, including our third Salopian to go to Harvard in three years, and several on scholarships, including two awarded the prestigious Morehead Cian Scholarship at the University of North Carolina. 72% of pupils achieved A Level grades A* - B with 43 pupils achieving straight A* - A, 14 of whom achieved at least three A* grades. 

National recognition reflects this success. Shrewsbury was featured in The Spectator’s “Oxbridge Files” as one of only 33 independent schools among the top UK institutions for progression to Oxford and Cambridge. Six Salopians secured places this year, including Medicine at Cambridge and Law at Oxford.
