Academic Results and Destinations

Shrewsbury pupils achieve outstanding academic and creative success, progressing to some of the world’s most competitive universities, conservatoires and specialist arts institutions.

In 2025, 87% secured their first-choice destinations, with 65% going on to Russell Group universities including Exeter, UCL and Durham.  

Eight pupils will continue their studies in North America, several on scholarships, including one awarded the prestigious Robertson Scholarship across the University of North Carolina and Duke University. 77% of pupils achieved A Level grades A* - B with 39 pupils achieving straight A* - A. 

National recognition reflects this success. Shrewsbury was featured in The Spectator’s “Oxbridge Files” as one of only 33 independent schools among the top UK institutions for progression to Oxford and Cambridge. 

Academic excellence is achieved through a wide-ranging curriculum that uncovers and encourages a genuine love of learning, alongside inspirational teaching that challenges each pupil to strive for their own personal best.
