Leo Winkley, Headmaster
Leo has been Headmaster of Shrewsbury School since September 2018. Before that he was Headmaster of St Peter’s School in York for eight years and also the former Chair of the Boarding Schools’ Association, which represents state and independent boarding schools.
Leo is a passionate advocate of partnerships. He is a founding Trustee of the School Partnerships Alliance and the Chair of Trustees of Shrewsbury House, also known as ‘The Shewsy’, a youth and community club in Everton, founded by teachers from Shrewsbury School in 1903.
He has a Master’s in Education and a Postgraduate Certificate in Business Administration from the Open University. He is also a member of HMC and the G30 group of Schools.
