Coach Routes

Shrewsbury School crest

Pupils at Shrewsbury come from all over the country and we believe this is a real strength of the School.

To support parents, the School arranges for a fleet of coaches to deliver your child to a point near where you live – and to pick them up from the same point to head back to Shrewsbury.

Coaches operate at the start and end of term, at either end of half-term and on one weekend either side of half term when the whole school is entitled to head home – what we call ‘coach weekends’. Each route has certain predetermined drop-off or collection points.  Routes are reviewed annually and may vary from one year to the next, subject to demand.

All coaches are provided by Longmynd Travel, a reputable local company. Shrewsbury School has worked with them for over 25 years. A professional chaperone service is provided on all London routes.

Please find below details of our coach routes; please also see our Coach Routes and Timings 2023-24 which includes full details of how the coach system works, timetables, etc and Chaperone Information for arrivals at Heathrow Airport.

All Routes (2023-24)

As a result of a review of the bus routes in ST23, we have made some changes reflecting routes which did not have sufficient demand to justify a bus. Therefore with effect from 2023-24 we will no longer run Coach Route H (Hereford).

In addition, we noted that for October half term (outward) most pupils are collected by parents attending school events such as the Tuck or House Singing, and therefore while coaches are set up for the return trip, we did not feel that there was sufficient demand for the outward trip for Coaches B, C, D, E, G, K and Y. Coach L will remain in place for both legs of the October half term. If you have any questions please contact Joycelin Hoyland.
