Gap Tutor / Graduate Assistant

Fixed Term One Year Contract: 1 September 2025 – 31 August 2026

We are seeking an enthusiastic individual that has recently left education or graduated from university. It may suit someone considering entering the teaching profession. The role will offer broad involvement in school life from providing support in the boarding house, assisting in class, extra-curricular activities such as games, music, art, or drama and supporting the grounds and administrative staff in the school.

We can offer a brilliant school environment which seeks to nurture and challenge pupils, backed by an outstanding and kind team of staff, set within a glorious estate in idyllic Shropshire. This is a residential post and there is the expectation that successful applicant will be fully committed to all areas of school life at Packwood.

Food Service Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Food Service Assistant to join our vibrant catering team. You will play a vital role in providing breakfast, lunch, supper, and morning and afternoon snacks for our students and staff and ensuring that our dining services continue to be a pillar of our school community. You will support our chefs in the daily preparation and service of food, maintain hygiene standards, and contribute to a positive dining experience. 

Vacancy 1: 

Rate of Pay: £11.54 with opportunity for overtime.

Working Hours: 20 hours per week

Shift Pattern: 5 out of 7 days: Shift pattern - 5.30pm – 9pm

Contract Type: Full Time

Vacancy 2:

Rate of Pay: £11.54 with opportunity for overtime.

Working Hours: 22 hours per week

Shift Pattern: 5 out of 7 days - Shift pattern balance of:

5.30pm – 9pm (3 days per week)

6.30am – 3pm (1 day per week)

10am – 4pm (Sunday)

Contract Type: Full Time

Vacancy 3:

Rate of Pay: £11.54 with opportunity for overtime.

Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Shift Pattern: 5 out of 7 days.

6.30am – 3pm

12pm – 9pm

10am – 8pm (Sunday only)

Contract Type: Full Time

What you’ll do: 

• Assist in the preparation and service of meals and refreshments in accordance with the menu. 
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in all catering areas. 
• Support the kitchen team in various tasks, including food preparation, cooking, and plating. 
• Help with the setup and clearing of dining areas. 
• Engage positively with students and staff, promoting a welcoming dining atmosphere. 
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations and food safety standards.
