Outdoor Education Graduate Assistant

Outdoor Education Graduate Assistant

Shrewsbury School seeks to appoint a recent graduate or post-graduate to contribute to the School’s Outdoor Education programme.

The successful candidate will be expected to deliver a range of Outdoor Education Activities within the school and assist with school trips and the Duke of Edinburgh programme. They will take responsibility for the management of the stores and inventory and will also contribute to the School’s thriving pastoral and co-curricular programmes. This post would be ideal for someone wishing to gain initial experience in the teaching profession and to gain key skills and knowledge in one of the country’s leading boarding schools.

The post is for a fixed term of one year, with the option of extension by mutual consent. The successful candidate will be accommodated by the School and will also be able to enjoy a programme of continuous professional development.

Outdoor Education at Shrewsbury is a very popular part of the co-curricular programme. All members of the Third Form take part in a range of Outdoor Education activities, with many choosing to continue throughout their time at school. The School runs a highly successful Duke of Edinburgh programme as well as a range of exciting trips, including most recently, climbing and trekking in the Pyrenees and biking in Morocco.

A full induction programme is provided for all new members of staff, in addition to a programme of continuous professional development. All new members of staff are issued with a Microsoft device.

Interviews will be held in the week commencing Monday 18 May 2026.

Hours: approximately 25 x 40-minute lessons per week plus ensemble coaching

Shrewsbury School is seeking an inspiring and highly skilled Violin Teacher to join its successful, vibrant, supportive, and enthusiastic Music Department. The department thrives on a culture of collaboration and excellence, nurturing students who are consistently impressive in both ability and ambition.

Pupils regularly apply to national ensembles and well-regarded competitions, and many achieve at exceptionally high levels, including working towards or achieving LTCL diplomas. We are committed to cultivating a lifelong engagement with music, and we invite you to join us in inspiring the next generation of passionate musicians.

There is the potential to split this role between two teachers of the appropriate calibre, to ensure we attract the right candidates for this important position.

Teaching students from beginner level through to highly advanced performers, including pupils preparing for ATCL/LTCL diplomas and music college auditions. Tailoring teaching methods to support diverse learning styles and musical goals.
Inspiring and encouraging pupils to participate fully in the musical life of the school. Collaborate closely with colleagues in the Music Department to support curriculum and co-curricular activities. Promoting high musical standards and a culture of enjoyment, commitment, and achievement.

Support Staff

Packwood - Minibus Driver

Packwood - Minibus Driver

Part time, term time only

We are looking to recruit a friendly Minibus Driver to safely collect and drop off pupils to and from School.

The ideal candidate will have a full and clean driving licence, with a minimum of two years driving experience, and will enjoy working in a friendly and pro-active environment. You will be driving a School minibus and will be responsible for ensuring the minibus is in safe working order, clean and in good condition.

In addition to a competitive rate of pay, we offer free parking and professional training and development.

An indication of the working hours are Monday to Friday, 6.30am to 8.30am and 5.30pm to 7.30pm (although you will not be required to work on a Wednesday evening). A job share may be considered for this position.
